Structure and Function
of Cells
Part 1 Milk
The milk
started to curdle and had a film on the top after two days. It would have been
more advanced except that my apartment is usually cool and finding a warm place
is difficult. I think that if left longer that the fat would totally separate from
the H2O. If I placed it in the windowsill in the sun the process would be much
faster.
The milk right after I poured it.

Part 2 Juice
When I added the juice to the room temperature water it
fully mixed immediately.
The ice water took the longest and only mixed at the bottom where the ice wasn’t.
I think that when I added the juice to the room temperature water in mixed faster because it was basically the same temperature. This resulted in the molecules not having to adjust to the change in temperature. When I added the juice to the ice water it mixed rather slowly. It mixed faster at the bottom away from the ice because the cold slowed the slowed the molecules down. The process was altered because of the lethargy. The process was only slightly delayed in the boiling water because of the initial shock of the heat, after the shock though it mixed as quickly as the room temperature.

The
carrot in the salt water was soft and the string was loose enough that the
carrot fell out of it. The carrot in the fresh water was hard and the string
was very tight.
Salt
water is a hypertonic solution and it diffused the water out of the carrot. The
fresh water was simply a solvent and a hypotonic solution thus the water enters
the cells and causes them to swell.
-It
seems that patient one is experiencing malfunctioning centrioles. I came
to this conclusion because the cell division is abnormal and that would explain
his symptoms because cell division releases energy.
-It
seems that patient two is experiencing malfunctioning Mitochondrion due
to lower ATP levels and it is the organelle that produced ATP.
-It
seems that patient three is experiencing malfunctioning Peroxisome. I
came to this conclusion because of the high levels of hydrogen peroxide, fat
and amino acids in cell. High levels of toxicity would cause the liver to
become enlarged and the jaundiced skin.
-It
seems that patient four is experiencing malfunctioning rough endoplasmic
reticulum. It would explain the low testosterone because proteins produce
hormones.

You seem to understand the concept of osmosis well. I hope you had some fun with this.
